5 players Sunrisers Hyderabad can target at the IPL 2022 auction

Natarajan has a brilliant yorker who famously undid the genius AB de Villiers in a knockout clash during IPL 2020.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH ) experienced terrible luck during IPL 2021. They came last, with just three wins and eleven defeats in 14 matches. There was plenty of unnecessary drama within the SRH camp too. David Warner was replaced as captain by Kane Williamson midway through IPL 2021. SRH removed Warner from the position of captain; he was not even chosen as a player to play in the final games in the series. It's not surprising that Warner was dismissed by the franchise before the IPL 2022 auction. SRH retained just three players: Kane Williamson (Rs 14 crore), Abdul Samad (Rs 4 crore), Umran Malik (Rs 4 crore). In the end, they've got a pot of 68 crores. In light of the previous example, we examine five players SRH may target in the auction in January.

One big purchase: Pat Cummins (6-8 crore)

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) purchased a new Australian Captain of the Test team Pat Cummins for Rs 15.5 crore during the IPL 2020 auction. Even though Cummins is an excellent fast bowler in all different formats, the price was high for many analysts. The pacer didn't enjoy a stellar IPL year in 2020, scoring 12 wickets in just 14 games. Then in the year 2021, he scored nine wickets in seven games and hit a record-breaking 65 in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Cummins is a highly skilled bowler if he is utilized correctly. He bowls at an excellent speed and is precise also. SRH could not perform during IPL 2021 due to the lack of the best fast bowler. Bringing in Cummins will help this particular department of theirs. He could also coach the young Umran Malik, who bowled with an incredible velocity in the past few games he took part in. Aside from being a great fast bowler, Cummins is more than just a bat.

Elite purchases: T Natarajan, KS Bharat (3-4 crore)

SRH didn't retain their left-arm player T Natarajan ahead of the auction, which came as somewhat of a shock. He was out for most of IPL 2021 due to injuries. However, Natarajan was among the primary reasons for their impressive run during their IPL 2020 campaign. He played just two games for SRH during the just-concluded season but scored 16 points in as many games the year prior. Natarajan is a superb yorker who was famously beaten by the genius of AB de Villiers in a knockout match in the IPL 2020. In the complete sense, he has various deliveries and can win games his ball. There's no reason why SRH should not buy Natarajan once more if they are fit.

Wicketkeepers are in high demand for the IPL. In addition, they are in tall order because of SRH having been forced to release Jonny Bairstow; they'll be looking for an acceptable replacement. The KS Bharat name is an excellent alternative. He was a player for RCB in the IPL 2021 and did a good performance, scoring 191 runs across eight games. It included a personal best of the 78-run match against Delhi Capitals (DC), where Bharat hit the famous last ball 6 on Avesh Khan. He is a quick keeper too.

Good buys: Jayant Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary (1-2 crore)

Offspinner Jayant Yadav has not got to take part in many IPL matches because he was part of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the past. In the course of his IPL career, he's only played in 19 games, of which he's claimed eight wickets. However, Yadav has an incredible economy rate of 6.86 and is an adept player. He took just one door in the two IPL 2020, but it was the one that was the most imposing one of Shikhar Dhawan at the end of the series. Yadav is a good batter too.

With Hardik Pandya in a state of injury, Saurabh Tiwary was given some chances to MI in the IPL 2021. The left-handed player made the most of his chance scoring 115 runs across five games, including a half-century. Tiwary played with maturity and put aside the door to those who doubted his fitness. He looked in good form at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well. It's a good choice in the middle of the order.
